Apple to increase cost of out of warranty battery replacement for all of its product range, here is everything we know
It is indeed to hear this said news that Apple is all set to increase the cost of out-of-warranty battery replacement. According to Apple, the cost will be increased by $20 USD, which would mean you will now have to pay extra for the battery replacement. Currently, according to the information available, this price hike will be effective from 1st March 2023.
We also got the information that the pricing for MacBook Air battery replacement will also be increased by $30 USD and for all MacBook and MacBook Pro models by $50 USD. If we talk about iPads the cost will increase by the same amount as of iPhones which is $20 USD for the following models:
- iPad Pro 12.9” (5th generation and prior),
- iPad Pro 11” (3rd generation and prior),
- The iPad Pro 10.5”,
- iPad Pro 9.7”,
- iPad mini (6th generation and prior), and iPad Air (5th generation and prior).
How much does it cost now to get a battery replaced by Apple?
If we talk about the current price of a battery replacement for iPhone 13 and other full-screen iPhone models, it costs about $69 USD. After this price hike, the cost will be increased to $89 USD. If you have an older version with a lock button the current cost of battery replacement is around $49 USD and after this price hike, it will be around $69 USD.
This price change will be effective for other countries also not only USA. This would mean for a person in India will have to pay around ₹2400 extra by the 1st of march 2023.
Currently, there is no information available as to why this decision is being taken up by Apple. We even tried to reach apple at the time of framing this article but weren’t able to get any reply.

The current out-of-warranty battery service fee will apply until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will be increased by $20 for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14.
