Byjus announced as 2022 FIFA World cup sponsor
BYJU’S, an Indian education technology firm, has been named the official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18. The Bengaluru-based company is also a sponsor of the Indian cricket team and will be making its first foray into football. “We are delighted to announce that BYJU’S would represent India on the biggest stage as an Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 TM,” the company said on Twitter.
The announcement comes after FIFA announced on Tuesday that it had entered into a World Cup sponsorship agreement with Singapore-based company Crypto.com.
BYJU’S will leverage its rights to the FIFA World Cup 2022 trademarks, emblems, and assets through this partnership. It will also run one-of-a-kind promotions to reach out to football fans all over the world.
According to FIFA’s official statement, BYJU’s founder and CEO, Byju Raveendran, stated, “We are thrilled to be a part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the world’s largest single-sport event. It gives us great pride to represent India on such a prestigious global stage and to advocate for the integration of education and sport. Sport is an important part of life because it brings people from all over the world together. Through this partnership, we at BYJU’S hope to inspire a love of learning in every child’s life, just as football inspires billions.”
