Chanel forces customers not to wear the company’s clothes in the Russian Federation

Before purchasing, the Chanel brand requires customers to sign a contract stating that the new owner will not wear the company’s clothes on Russian Federation territory.

According to a Russian blogger based in Dubai, when purchasing a handbag, she was asked to sign a document confirming that she did not live in Russia.

Chanel is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1910 by couturière Coco Chanel. It specialises in women’s ready-to-wear clothing, luxury items, and accessories.

Chanel, which operates 17 stores in Russia, stated that “major uncertainty and the complexities of operating” had caused it to temporarily halt operations in the country. “We will no longer deliver to Russia, we will close our stores, and we have already suspended internet shopping,” the luxury brand announced.
