If you mistakenly sent money via UPI to wrong account, this method can help you to get the refund
Everything is getting digitized so does the way of payment. Transaction under UPI is crossing record amounts every year and this year it crossed a new record of Rs 14 lakh crore in March 2023. When such a large number of transactions are being made every day, mistakes do tend to happen.
Users always make sure to check the details twice and sometimes even thrice but still just a single number change can make the money go into the wrong account. But here we have brought to you the solution.
Solution
According to RBI guidelines, if you mistakenly send the amount to the wrong account you can get it back within 48 hours. You just need to dial 1800 120 1740 on your phone to fill the complaint in the bank within 3 days of the transaction. If you fail to fill out the complaint within 3 days, your chances of getting a refund will reduce.
In case the bank does not register your complaint you can register it on http://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in.
Make sure to not do it.
Every time we make a transaction we receive a message. Don’t delete this message because it comes with a PPBL number which can help to get the refund of money.
