Savitri Jindal has become the richest businesswoman in India with a rise of $12 billion within two years

The Indian businesswoman and politician Savitri Jindal who took over her husband Om Prakash Jindal’s conglomerate, the Jindal Group after his sudden demise, is now the richest woman with a rise of $12 billion within just two years.

Reportedly her net worth has more than tripled to $17.7 billion, over the last two years from $4.8 billion in 2020 to $17.7 billion in 2022. She has been the matriarch of Jindal Steel and the power conglomerate took care of the business after his husband’s sudden demise from a helicopter crash in 2005.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, her net worth stand at $10.5 billion in July. Although in 2019 and 2020 her net worth declined by almost 50% from $8.8 billion in 2018 to $5.9 billion in 2019 to $4.8 billion in 2020.

According to the report, other billionaires such as Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma, Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group, Nusli Wadia of Wadia Group along with Savitri Jindal of  Jindal group have seen an increase in wealth from $1 billion and $4.3 billion in the first 6 months of 2021.

According to a report by Forbes Savitri Jindal has been added to the Forbes Billionaires List 2022, with a net worth of $17.7 billion. Forbes also stated that she has been the richest woman in India for quite a long time.

She has also secured her rank in the global billionaires club from 349 in 2020 to 126 in 2022 with a net worth of $10.5 billion. According to the Jindal matriarch who has not been able to get a college education in her early life, “in our family women do not venture out. we remain in charge of the house while the men take care of everything outside.” She has paved a way for other women to achieve great success coming from a humble backgrounds.

She has also been a minister in the Haryana Government and a member of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from the Hisar constituency.
