“We are working toward exporting USD 10B per year from India by 2027” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon after meeting with PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Walmart CEO Doug McMillon on 14th May in the national capital Delhi after which he wrote on Twitter that they discussed different subjects and had a fruitful meeting with Doug McMillon. He also mentioned that he is happy to see India emerging as an attractive destination for investment.
PM wrote “The meeting with Mr. Doug McMillon, CEO of @Walmart, was a fruitful one. We had insightful discussions on different subjects. Happy to see India emerge as an attractive destination for investment.”
Both personalities earlier met on 11th May. Doug McMillon, sharing his experience, wrote on Twitter “Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi for a great conversation. We are working toward exporting USD 10B per year from India by 2027 and are committed to strengthening logistics, skill development & supply chains to make India a global export leader in toys, seafood & other goods.”
Doug McMillon mentioned in his tweet about the 14 May meeting that “The visit with Prime Minister @narendramodi reinforces the shared value we bring working alongside India. Together, we’ll continue to support the country’s manufacturing growth and create opportunity.”

As per the reports Walmart members met with suppliers, merchants, grantees, and MSMEs in India earlier this week.
In a statement made by Walmart’s CEO, he mentioned that “Walmart is committed to India and we are here for the long term. We are excited about the Indian suppliers and partners who make quality, affordable, and sustainable products for our customers and members around the world. We are proud that our business can support India’s growth by creating jobs, strengthening communities, and accelerating India’s progress as a manufacturing destination,”
