Cricketer Wriddhiman Saha receive threatening messages from a journo, BCCI into action

On Saturday Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha from Bengal received threatening messages from a journo who swore to never interview him again and also messaged in a threatening tone that he will remember that.

A day after Saha tweeted a screenshot of the message from someone he described as “a respected journalist”, who appeared to be requesting an exclusive interview, we now know that the BCCI will ask him to reveal the unknown person’s identity before deciding what to do.
A number of former cricketers have offered their support to Saha and asked him to reveal the identity of the journalist. The respected former players like Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh , Ravi Shashtri and others have come in support of the Indian cricketer and tweeted for him.

Recently there is an update that the BCCI has jumped into action. In an interview with News9 a BCCI treasurer said, “We are serious about the matter (Journalist message to W Saha) and are looking into it. First we have to get to know who it is, what the context was and accordingly we will take action.”
Saha’s pullout from the first round of Bengal’s Ranji fixtures was misconstrued as him losing motivation after both coach Rahul Dravid and Sharma informed him that his international days were over. According to the wicketkeeper, the pullout was due to personal reasons as his wife just recovered from dengue.
India’s decision not to select him for the Test series against Sri Lanka is at the center of the latest controversy in Indian cricket.
