Dalai Lama visits the India’s most exquisite region, Leh Ladakh!
Dalai Lama, the most famous Buddhist teacher in the world visited the India’s most stunning mountainous Leh Ladakh region last week.
Thousands of people lined up for welcoming the Tibetan Buddhist outside the airport. He received a hearty welcome from the Ladakh people who have a huge respect for His Holiness. This is the first trip of Dalai Lama outside his base in the northern city at Indian Dharamsala since the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s also his first time in Ladakh since the New Delhi separated the region from Kashmir, discarding the entire territory’s independent status and taking direct control in 2019 which got criticism by the country’s like Pakistan and China. Afterwards, the Indian and Chinese troops had dangerous battle in Ladakh which worsened the China-India relations.
Because of the guerrilla war between Tibetan rebels and the Chinese soldiers thousands of Buddhists were exiled from Tibet. However, the China’s official version of the Dalai Lama’s 1959 escape says that he was forced to flee due to he failed his part to maintain the serfdom in the region, under which the majority of Tibetans were slaves leading a life of misery.
