Amazon selling Weed Energy worth 1.2 Crore, 2 Arrested for buying it

The Premier online shopping and e-commerce platform Amazon was examined by Madhya Pradesh police after it was discovered to be utilised for transporting illicit narcotic substance from Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) to Madhya Pradesh.

Following the arrest of two individuals with 20 kg of ganja (marijuana) in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district, police scanned the premier online buying and e-commerce site Amazon, which was utilised for smuggling the illicit narcotic material from Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) to Madhya Pradesh.

Suraj alias Kallu Pavaiya and Pintu alias Bijendra Singh Tomar own and operate a roadside dhaba in Bhind district.

“Following the interrogation of the arrested duo, it was discovered that they had been obtaining the illicit narcotic drug through a large internet purchasing platform for the past four months.” They had already sourced one tonne of ganja (marijuana) using the same technology in the previous four months. During the last four months, monetary transactions of Rs 1.10 crore took place,” claimed Manoj Kumar Singh, Bhind district police superintendent, in an interview with The New Indian Express.

The racket’s Andhra Pradesh-sourced ganja was also shipped to Bhopal, Dewas, Agar-Malwa, and Gwalior districts in Madhya Pradesh, as well as Rajasthan’s Kota area and Haridwar (Uttarakhand).

Further research found that one of the two defendants, Suraj Pavaiya, had registered with Amazon as a vendor of herbal items and curry leaves using the data of a Gujarat-based textile company, giving him the ability to print barcodes from the same platform.

“The interrogation of the arrested duo revealed that the online shopping giant received almost 66% of the monetary transactions. We’ll be notifying Amazon soon, as the online shopping gateway has failed to stop this illicit internet smuggling of the narcotic material on many cases. If the online purchasing platform is found to be at fault and a part of the crime, it would be charged under the 29 NDPS Act, according to the Bhind district police chief.

“Ganja shipments were trafficked through Amazon from Vizag to MP and other locations. The accused has been detained, and his partner has been brought into custody. He claims to have sneaked a tonne of ganja through it in the last four months… Amazon has been notified, and information on Gujarat-based Babu Tex is being sought “He went on to say that

Twitter users have used hashtags like #boycottamazon and #amazononlineracket to convey their displeasure with Amazon.
