Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Workers Vandalizes Amazon Warehouse

FIR was reportedly lodged on Friday against 8 to 10 Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) employees for vandalizing the Amazon warehouse in Pune, police said. MNS employees allegedly vandalized an Amazon warehouse in Pune’s Kondhwa through a notice sent to Raj Thackeray by the Mumbai court asking him to appear before the court on 5 January for a dispute over the addition of Marathi language assistance to the Amazon website.

MNS worker Amit Jagtap, who was the leader of the party that vandalized the downfall, said that the notification sent to Raj Thackeray by Amazon yesterday (Thursday) is unconstitutional. If one wants to do business in Maharashtra, they have to offer an alternative in the Marathi language, and if they don’t do so in the future as well… then the way this (Amazon’s warehouse) has been vandalized in the same way that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won’t let their shops run, the vehicles will work in Maharashtra.

The e-commerce firm had approached the Dindoshi court in the district, following which a notice was given to MNS Chief Raj Thackeray ordering him to appear before the court on 5 January.

MNS recently wrote a letter to the Amazon Chief asking him to add the language of Marathi as an option on their website for Maharashtra customers.

The case was registered with the Kondhwa Police Station in Pune according to sections 143,147,149,427,452 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with a host of other related sections.
