Ex Indian Navy chief takes on Anand Mahindra over Agnipath Scheme
On the ongoing protest against the new military recruitment scheme ‘Agnipath’, industrialist Anand Mahindra said that he is depressed by the violence in the country.
Consequently, the chairman of Mahindra, on this issue, tweeted and said that the Mahindra Group will welcome the opportunity to recruit such trained and capable young Agniveers.
Saddened by the violence around the #Agneepath program. When the scheme was mooted last year I stated-& I repeat-the discipline & skills Agniveers gain will make them eminently employable. The Mahindra Group welcomes the opportunity to recruit such trained, capable young people

Accordingly, in the response to Anand Mahindra’s tweet, former navy chief Arun Prakash tweeted, “Why await this new scheme? Has the Mahindra Group, so far, reached out to thousands of highly skilled & disciplined ex-Servicemen, retiring every year & desperately seeking a second career? It would be nice to get some statistics from your Group.”
Why await this new scheme? Has the Mahendra Group, so far, reached out to thousands of highly skilled & disciplined ex-Servicemen (Jawans & Officers), retiring every year & desperately seeking a 2nd career. It would be nice to get some statistics from your Group.
