Fire broke out near Mundka Metro Station; 26 killed
Minimum 26 people have been killed in a major fire broke out in a building at Mundka Metro Station in West Delhi on Friday, 13 May. “26 bodies have been recovered in the fire at the three – story commercial building,” said Deputy Chief Fire Officer Sunil Choudhary.
“Teams are now trying to go to the third floor for rescue. All bodies are charred,” Delhi Fire Director Atul Garg said. The police has also added that 10 people have been injured in the fire.
However, some people are still trapped in the building and the rescue operation was going on.
President Ram Nath Kovind took to Twitter to express is sorrows of the incident, “Distressed by the tragic fire accident at a building near Mundka Metro Station in Delhi. My condolences to the bereaved families. I wish for speedy recovery of the injured.”
