Hellas Verona defeated Spezia thanks to Gianluca Caprari’s brace
Despite being decimated by COVID, Hellas Verona mark their 1,000th Serie A match with a Gianluca Caprari brace, while Kevin Agudelo was sent off for a spectacular high boot.
The Tudor team traveled with eight players out with Coronavirus, but that didn’t stop them from dominating the game.
Caprari scored twice, a tap-in assist by Simeone and a long distance shot.
Martin Erlic scored from the corner to bring Spezia back into the game, but after that, Agudelo was dismissed for a ridiculous karate kick on Fabio Depaoli.
In spite of the absence of eight players with COVID-19, Gianluca Caprari’s well-taken brace enabled Hellas Verona to win away at Spezia.
The match went ahead despite 10 players from the Verona group testing positive for COVID-19, including 8 players: Lorenzo Montipe, Alessandro Berardi, Giangiacomo Magnani, Mert CEtin, Diego Coppola, Marco Davide Faraoni, Gianluca Frabotta, Matteo Cancellieri, Daniel Bessa, and Antonino Ragusa. Martin Hongla and Pawel Dawidowicz, who were on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, were injured. Spezia also had several COVID cases, including the missing M’Bala Nzola, Rey Manaj, Aleksandar Kovalenko, and Hristov, with Ebrima Colley on international duty.
This was Verona’s 1,000th match in Serie A, making the club the 17th to accomplish that milestone.
