MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Chipset Unveiling Tomorrow; Qualcomm to Announce Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition Two Weeks Later
Semiconductor brands MediaTek and Qualcomm were soon expected to unveil their latest mobile processors and after so many updates and rumors, the launch dates for the Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chipsets in China have been revealed.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 – Launching on 9th October 2024
MediaTek will be unveiling its Dimensity 9400 chipset this month itself, as shared earlier, on the 9th of October 2024, tomorrow, at the Dimensity Flagship Chip New Product Launch Conference scheduled for 10:30 AM in China. The poster image also mentions that AI chips would leap forward and Dimensity will lead its way. In related news, the upcoming chipset is also revealed to be optimized to run the Gemini Nano AI model, meaning devices equipped with the Dimensity 9400 chipset will be able to operate many on-device AI applications and features.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition – Expected Launch on 22nd October
While Qualcomm hasn’t been precise about the chipset it plans to unveil this month, it is reported that it could be the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chipset. However, it should be noted that few other reports also state the possibility for the Snapdragon 8 Elite release. What is sure for now is that the brand will be unveiling a flagship Snapdragon chipset with Oryon Cores on the 22nd of October 2024. Also, in the teaser video shared by the brand on Weibo, the chipset was featured on a prototype phone seemingly looking like the OnePlus 13 smartphone. To add, the Snapdragon Summit as earlier revealed will be from the 21st of October to the 23rd of October, 2024.
