MediaTek Officially Unveils its Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X Chips With Almost Identical Specs

MediaTek has now unveiled two new 4nm chips – Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X. Both these chips are revealed to feature almost identical specs, and the former is believed to be for regular phones, whereas the latter is for foldable devices.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X Chips Unveiled
As mentioned above, both the newly unveiled Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X chipsets of MediaTek feature identical specs, and the only difference seems to be that the Dimensity 7400X has been optimized for use in foldable devices, while the Dimensity 7400 is for normal regular smartphones.
Speaking of their specs, they are octa-core processors equipped with four ARM Cortex A78 cores (clocked up to 2.6 GHz) and four ARM Cortex A55 cores. In terms of memory and storage, the two support LPDDR5 and LPDDR4x RAM types, with maximum memory frequency of up to 6400 Mbps. Storage type support includes UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1.
Coming to the connectivity side, 2G/3G/4G/5G network, 3.27 Gbps peak downlink speed, GPS/BeiDou/Glonass/Galileo/QZSS/NavlC location positioning services, WiFi 6E, 2T2R WiFi Antenna, and Bluetooth 5.4 are supported specs.
Also, the maximum camera supported is 200MP, with 4K30 (3840 x 2160 pixels) maximum video capture resolution. Hardware face detection and AF, hardware MCNR, 4K Video HDR, AI-3A with AE/AWB/AF, and video EIS are supported camera features.
Finally about its graphics, display, and AI features, the ARM Mali-G615 MC2 GPU is integrated, providing H.264/HEVC video encoding and H.264/HEVC/VP-9 video playback. WFHD+ resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ display with 144Hz refresh rate are supported display screens. MediaTek’s 6th generation NPU 655 is also supported on the Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X chips.
