MediaTek Officially Unveils its Dimensity 9400+ Chip With a Boosted Primary Core

Following the October 2024 release of the Dimensity 9400 flagship chip, the Taiwanese semi-conductor company – MediaTek has now officially unveiled the upgraded Dimensity 9400+ chip. Notably, the newly-unveiled Dimensity chip has a boosted primary core.
Here’s more about it.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ Chip – Officially Unveiled
The latest MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip is made using TSMC’s 2nd-gen 3nm N3E process technology featuring a Cortex X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz (2MB L2 cache), three Cortex X4 cores clocked at 3.30GHz (1MB L2 cache), and four Cortex A720 cores clocked at 2.40GHz (512KB L2 cache). As mentioned, it offers a boosted Cortex X925 primary core over the 3.63GHz-clocked Cortex X925 core that is present inside last year’s Dimensity 9400 chip. About the GPU, it equips the ARM Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU (12 core) with ray-tracing, 12MB L3 cache + 10MB system cache, and 10MB SLC.
Speaking of its other notable specs, it supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage (with MCQ). MediaTek’s NPU 890 is also a part of the chipset, offering 20% faster agentic AI performance (with Speculative Decoding+). Regarding its connectivity specs, WiFi 7 with triple band support (7.3Gbps, 2×2 + 2×2 + 1×1), Bluetooth 6.0 (12Mbps), and location position services like GPS (L1CA+L5+L1C), BeiDou (B1I + B1C + B2a + B2b), Glonass (L1OF), Galileo (E1 + E5a + E5b), QZSS (L1CA + L5), and NavIC (L5) are supported.
Coming to the display and camera specs, WQHD+ resolution display with 180Hz max refresh rate and MiraVision 1090 are supported display specs. 320MP max camera support and 8K60 (7690 x 4320 pixels) max video support are present on this latest chip as well, along with the Imagiq 1090 image signal processor (ISP). The MediaTek Ultrasave 4.0 technology and R17 power saving enhancement are also notable features. On top of all these, the DeepSeek R1 LLM integrated within the chip is an important specification too.
OPPO very recently unveiled its Find X8s and Find X8s+ smartphone models featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip in the Chinese market. Vivo’s X200s and Realme’s GT 7 flagship smartphones are also officially announced to soon hit the market with this chip onboard. Apart from these, iQOO’s Neo 10S Pro, OnePlus’ Ace 5S, Xiaomi’s 15T Pro, and Redmi’s K80 Ultra smartphone models are also believed to use the same chip.
Stay tuned for more updates.
