Xiaomi to Unveil its Own Self-Developed Mobile Chip
Next year might be putting a certain amount of pressure on semi-conductor companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek as one of the most widely accepted consumer electronics company – Xiaomi is said to be in the works with its own self-developed mobile chip and the mass production of the in-house chip is revealed to begin in 2025.
It is believed that Xiaomi has taken this big step in order to reduce its reliance on other semi conductor giants, as well as to stand out in a market where Android devices powered by Qualcomm chips mostly leads the way. From what has been reported, this information was shared by people familiar with the matter, however, their names remain anonymous, but it is possible that the update may be genuine.
Speaking more about the semi-conductor industry, apart from Qualcomm and MediaTek, Google, Apple, Samsung, and Huawei have notably unveiled their own in-house chips. Among these, Google and Apple have successfully transitioned all their products to their own respective self-developed chips. Xiaomi might also be planning on such a move. To add, Xiaomi must also have to be very careful as we have already seen Intel, Nvidia, and OPPO failing in the semi-conductor market.
