Kohli’s coach, Rajkumar Sharma: Rohit Sharma’s captaincy will be tested In SENA
The new Indian all-format captain Rohit Sharma will be put to the ultimate test in SENA countries, according to Rajkumar Sharma, Kohli’s childhood coach.
Sharma replaced Virat Kohli as white-ball captain last year, and he was recently appointed as the new Test captain of the Indian team ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Khelneeti, Rajkumar Sharma said leading the team in SENA would be a real test for Rohit, since the strongest teams struggle when they tour India.
According to him, an Indian skipper is judged based on his performance in overseas tours, and he wished Rohit continued his brilliance as a skipper in SENA countries.
“In SENA countries, Sharma will face his toughest test. Even the best teams struggle when they come to India. An Indian captain is often judged by the number of matches and series he wins.” he added.
“Sharma’s tenure has started off on a brilliant note and his team has done well so far. He should lead the team in similar fashion in overseas conditions as well,” Rajkumar Sharma concluded.
In particular, Rohit has been undefeated since becoming the team’s full-time captain. India recently won three T20I & ODI series against West Indies by 3-0 under his leadership.
