Mark Wood gets his maiden Ashes fifer

On day 3 of the test against Australia, England staged a comeback behind Wood’s maiden five wicket haul in the Ashes. Australia went to the dinner break with eight down for 141, thanks to Wood’s 4 wickets in the first session of day three. Alex Carey helped Australia reach 256 in the second innings when the hosts were 121/8.
During Australia’s middle order collapse, Wood wrecked havoc and dismantled the hosts on Day 3.
After being bowled out for 188 in the first innings, Wood’s spell in the first session on Sunday has ensured that England remain in the game.
In the second innings, Australia regained full control against England thanks to Pat Cummins’ four wicket haul and Steve Smith’s gritty batting performance. The hosts held a 152-run lead over Australia at 37/3 at the end of the day.
As the hosts gained a lead of 115, Australia got off to a dreadful start by losing David Warner on the third ball of the second innings.
