Alleged Google Pixel 8a Codenamed “Akita” Spotted on the Geekbench Database: Processor with Nine Core Architecture

Google introduced its Pixel 7 series last year in the month of October 2022 with the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices and in a later period, in the month of May 2023, the third smartphone of the series, the Pixel 7a was launched.

Many reports regarding the upcoming Pixel 8 and 8 Pro devices have arrived in the past few months and now, the very first update about the expected Pixel 8a has popped out.

Alleged Pixel 8a Listed on the Geekbench Database

This alleged Pixel 8a smartphone has been listed as “Google Akita” on Geekbench 5 and has received a single-core score of 1218 points and a multi-core score of 3175 points. The listing also points out that it will run on the upcoming Android 14 OS and its motherboard has been codenamed “Akita” as well. What is surprising is that the device is revealed to have a nine-core architecture.

Speaking about the architecture, it has a core configuration with 1+4+4 cores and its primary core has been clocked at 2.91 GHz. The four performance cores have a clock speed of 2.37 GHz and its base cores are revealed to have a clock speed of 1.70GHz. It is also integrated with the Mali G715 GPU. To add, it is the 8GB RAM variant of the smartphone that has appeared on the database.

It has also now been tipped that this chipset is Google’s Tensor G3 underclocked chipset.

The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro smartphones are expected to have its launch by the end of this year and regarding the Pixel 8a, the smartphone is most likely to launch very much after that, similar to what happened with the Pixel 7a smartphone.
