Google Pixel 8a and its Back Case found listed on Canadian retailer website, Pricing Revealed

We are just around the corner from getting an official glimpse of the upcoming Google Pixel 8a. While a lot of rumors have been circulating, a new leak has emerged from the underground. Thanks to it, we now have an alleged pricing for this upcoming smartphone.

Google Pixel 8a Pricing Revealed

Now coming back to it, this upcoming smartphone has been listed on a Canadian retailer website called PC-Canada.com (first spotted by tipster Paras Guglani). The listing has revealed the storage options that might be available, but no RAM or specs have been listed there. It is revealed to come in two storage options: 128GB and 256GB, and will cost around CAD 708.99 for the base variant, while the 256GB variant will cost CAD 792.99 as per the listing. Additionally, we found the listing of the Google Pixel 8a Case Obsidian, which shows it may come with a price tag of CAD 23.99. All of these products are listed there with a single color option “Obsidian”.

However, an earlier leak has hinted that it may come with 4 color options: Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint. Since it’s an early retailer listing, taking this information with a grain of salt is always advisable. As earlier, when Pixel 8 series pricing was leaked via a European retailer it showed a significant price rise, but later it turned out to be wrong.

So reader’s caution is advised, also we had earlier spotted it on Bluetooth SIG and IMDA Singapore certification. The Bluetooth certification confirmed, that it will come with Bluetooth version 5.4. Also, it is expected to come with a 6.1″ display and a debatable 90Hz(Claim by Android Headlines) or 120Hz(Claim by Android Authority) refresh rate. Under the hood, we can expect the Tensor G3 chipset with some AI capability. At the back, a dual camera setup of a 64MP main camera a 13MP Ultra Wide with LED flash, and a 13MP front camera. While the Pixel 8 and 8 pro both came with a battery size of above 4500 mAh, the Pixel 8a may come with a 4500 mAh battery.

Conclusion

In the end, if I compare it with the previous expected pricing which was to be below USD 500, this new listing suggests a slight price hike. Google is expected to launch this smartphone at the Google I/O conference that is to be held next month on 14th May. So, let’s keep the motivation high and hope that there won’t be a price hike.
