HMD or Human Mobile Devices is a global brand popularly known as the maker of Nokia devices and in the past two months, we have been coming across a lot of reports revealing the brand’s plans in unveiling new mobile devices with HMD monikers as well as their intentions to collaborate with global partners. All these are now official and we will be able to witness them in this coming summer.

The Latest HMD Updates
HMD Global has this vision of making life easier with technology as well as to solve real life issues with tech innovations. The brand aims in making affordable, desirable, and beautiful, at the same time repairable phones that won’t let customers break their bank savings. These new devices will also be helping in tackling tech challenges such as e-wastes and digital fatigue, making life itself healthy and enjoyable. Also to add, the major transformation projects that the brand had undergone had also led to significant improvements in its year over year operational profitability in 2023.
As mentioned, e-waste is one of the biggest challenges in this current scenario and HMD with their award winning repairable long lasting mobiles and reduced number of repairability steps have addressed the issue for its customers and for the environment.
It is already understood that HMD is all about human innovation and the brand has always tried its best to bring normally expensive technologies to its users at affordable costs. The measures taken to bring new payment options to feature phones and adding micro-financing capabilities to smartphones were all part of this. Aligning with this, HMD will be introducing a smartphone device this summer and the brand has now released a first version toolkit for developers and businesses to bring forth their ideas to the brand.
Previously, HMD had confirmed that the brand will not be stopping the release of Nokia-branded devices, and it will also be having a multi-brand vision by its collaboration with other brands/partners. HMD will be bringing an iconic Nokia phone and a Barbie Flip Phone (a retro feature phone) this summer along with the above-mentioned HMD smartphone.
In related news, we have also come across two schematic images of two HMD branded smartphones, suggesting that two smartphones are coming. Both almost have similar design, but one appears to be wider than the other. Notable design aspects include a rectangular-shaped camera module and bottom panel featuring a speaker unit, USB type-C charging port, a microphone hole, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The second phone is also revealed to house a dual camera setup and an LED flashlight within the camera module. The poster image also points to 4 possible upcoming models that can arrive this summer (maybe two smartphones, the feature phone, and the flip feature phone).
