Honor 100 Series Smartphones Launched in China: Pre-Reservations Begun

The Chinese smartphone maker, Honor, has now unveiled its flagship 100 series smartphones in China. The pre-reservations for the smartphones are currently live, and they will be made available for open sales next month.

The vanilla Honor 100 smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and is integrated with the Adreno 720 GPU. It runs on the Android 13 based MagicOS 7.2 custom UI and comes in three storage options – 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB & 16GB/512GB.

For its display, the device features an OLED display panel with a screen size of 6.7″. The display also supports a 1200 x 2664 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 2600 nits brightness rate.

About its cameras, the smartphone sports a dual camera unit at its rear, housing a 50MP main camera and an additional 12MP ultrawide camera. There is also a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Regarding the battery, it is backed by a 5000 mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging. The device also has a 5W reverse wired charging support.

Other features include 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 with dual-band support & Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB type-C 2.0, and OTG. The device also supports various location positioning services such as GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, QZSS & BDS (B1I+B1c). It also has stereo speakers and an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The device is also 7.8mm thin and weighs a total of 183 grams. It comes in four colors – Black, Silver, Blue, & purple.

The pro model of the series, the Honor 100 Pro, is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm and has the Adreno 740 GPU onboard. It comes with the Android 13 based MagicOS 7.2 custom skin out of the box and is available in four storage options – 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB.

The smartphone also has a slightly larger 6.78″ OLED display panel and has a screen resolution of 1224 x 2700 pixels. It also has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a brightness rate of 2600 nits.

Coming to the cameras, the device has a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter, a 32MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, it also offers a 50MP front camera.

The device is also backed by the same 5000 mAh battery, along with the 100W fast charging feature, and has an additional 66W wireless fast charge support as well. The 5W reverse wired charging feature, and a reverse wireless charging feature, are also supported by the smartphone.

Speaking of its other features, it has 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 (dual-band support & Wi-Fi direct), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0, OTG, location position services (GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, QZSS), under-display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers.

The pro model also has four color variants – Black, Silver, Blue, and violet, and is 8.2/8.5 mm thin with a total weight of 195 grams.

The vanilla Honor 100 smartphone, as mentioned, is available in three storage options – 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, & 16GB/512GB, with price tags of ¥2499, ¥2799, ¥2999. The Honor 100 Pro device has four storage variants – 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, & 16GB/1TB, and are priced ¥3399, ¥3699, ¥3999, & ¥4399, respectively.

The pre-reservations for the two smartphones began on the day of its launch itself, at 9 PM local time, and its official sale will begin on the 1st of December 2023, next month, at 10:08 AM. It will be available for purchase via Honor’s official website, major e-commerce platforms (like JD.com), Honor experience stores, and also through other authorized retailers in China.
