Huawei Mate 60 Series to Reintroduce the Pill Shaped Camera Unit: Dynamic Island Like Features Expected
Huawei is expected to launch its Mate 60 series smartphones in the month of August and reports are now stating that the brand is going to bring the pill-shaped dual front-facing camera unit back to its Mate series smartphones but unlike before, the brand will be featuring it in a centrally aligned manner.

Huawei Mate 60 Series to have a Pill Shaped Camera Unit
Huawei first introduced a pill-shaped selfie camera unit with its Mate 40 series smartphones in 2020 featuring two cameras, one a selfie camera and the other a ToF 3D sensor. The dual camera unit was however introduced a year back with the Mate 30 series but the camera module wasn’t pill-shaped and was integrated with the long notch unit at the top. The brand again with its Mate 50 series had shifted from the pill-shaped unit back to the notch-integrated design but reports now have started to reveal that the brand is going to bring back its pill-shaped camera module back featuring the dual camera setup.
But there is a small difference from that of the Mate 40 series smartphones. If we look into the selfie camera module of the Mate 40 series, it was placed towards the left side of the screen but the upcoming Mate 60 series will have a centrally aligned pill-shaped selfie camera unit. Yes, the same design was pioneered by Apple with its iPhone 14 Pro models. (Note, only the Pro models and the RS Porsche Design models of Huawei Mate Series have dual front-facing cameras).
To add an aesthetic touch and to make the best out of the on screen pill shaped camera module, Apple had brought a unique feature to its devices – The Dynamic Island. It is expected that Huawei might also bring a similar feature with its Mate 60 series.
