iPhone 15 Pro Max About To Feature Periscope Lens?
The new iPhone 15 series is expected to launch at the September event and the iOS 17 launch at WWDC 2023. As the launch date is just out the door, rumors and leaks are coming strong. A new report came the other day that the iPhone 1 Pro models could miss out on the solid-state buttons.
Even though this news is a little depressing for iPhone users, another report came that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could get an exclusive camera that will excite iPhone users. MacRumors reported that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could have almost double the optical zoom of the latest iPhones.
As Hindustan Times Tech reported, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is going to have major upgrades in the camera department with an exclusive feature.
A few weeks ago, Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, revealed that Apple had chosen parts manufacturer Largen to make the periscope lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. MacRumors reports that this new periscope camera, which will be built into the telephoto lens, could offer 5x -6x optical zoom, which is two times the 3x zoom that the current iPhone 14 Pro Max offers. This feature will be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro Max only as the reports.
The advantage of a periscope camera is that it enhances the camera’s zooming capabilities without adding thickness to the camera module by redirecting light from the camera’s aperture to align with the phone’s body. This is important for the easy portability of phones.
This technology came before in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The S23 has a 10x zoom via a folded periscope lens.
Pricing
As we recently reported this year iPhone 15 series is going to be a bit expensive as high as $2900 USD.
