iQOO phone with upcoming Snapdragon SM8365 chip in works, key details emerge
In recent months, iQOO has launched the iQOO 12, iQOO 12 Pro, Neo 9, and Neo 9 Pro flagship phones in the Chinese market. A new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that the brand is now working on a new phone, which will come equipped with a brand-new Qualcomm chip. The leaker has shared the key specifications of the device.
As per the leak, the mysterious iQOO phone will feature a flat OLED 8T LTPO panel that offers a 1.5K resolution. A Qualcomm chip with the SM8635 chip will power the smartphone. While rumors suggest that it could be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, there are no concrete reports to back the claim. The leak also claims that the device will support 120W fast charging.
As per other leaks, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will have the Cortex X4 prime core along with the Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 CPU cores. The SoC will have the Adreno 740 for graphics. As per a recent Weibo post by DCS, the performance of this new chip surpasses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Hence, it is difficult to say whether it will be called the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 or end up as a Snapdragon 8-series chip.
DCS seems to have shared more details about the said device earlier this month. It appears that the smartphone will be equipped with a high-density 5,000mAh+ battery and have a plastic middle frame. The highest variant of the device may offer 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
There is a possibility that it could be yet another Neo-branded phone from iQOO. It remains to be seen whether it will have the iQOO Neo 9 SE or some other moniker.
