Motorola Edge 50 Pro spotted on TDRA certification, may support 50W wireless charging
It seems that earlier rumors suggesting that Motorola is soon to launch a new smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are indeed materializing. Previously, there were hints that Motorola would introduce the Moto X50 in the Chinese market in Q2 of 2024. It is expected that it may be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, courtesy of tipster Smart Pikachu. Subsequently, it was anticipated that the device would debut in the global market as the Edge 50 Pro, following the precedent set by the Moto X40 (China) and Motorola Edge 40 Pro (Global).
Today holds special significance as we, at The Tech Outlook, have exclusively spotted this smartphone on the TDRA certification. This certification not only provides the model number but also confirms the moniker that the smartphone will carry.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro bears the model number XT2403-2, with certification number ER29143/24. However, aside from this information, not much else has been revealed through this certification.
Furthermore, yesterday, friends over at 91mobiles discovered this model number listed on several certification websites. While BIS and IMEI didn’t provide much information, FCC and TUV certifications did offer some insights. According to FCC, there are four models: XT2403-1, XT2403-2, XT2403-4, and XT2403-5. The model number XT2403-2 spotted on the IMEI database shows the codename “Macan,” which an earlier tipster had suggested could be for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. With the TDRA certification, the moniker is now confirmed.
According to the TUV certification, we may expect a 4,500mAh battery with support for up to 125W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Motorola might launch this smartphone in other markets under a different name, similar to what it did earlier with the Moto Edge 30 Pro and Moto Edge 40 Pro.
