Nokia C12 with extendable RAM and Android 12 Go Edition launched in India at Rs 5,999

Nokia has discreetly released a new budget smartphone in India, expanding its C-series portfolio with the Nokia C12. This is one of the most affordable smartphones offered by the company in India and is designed as an entry-level option for people looking to upgrade from a feature phone or those seeking a cost-effective smartphone experience. The phone is built with polycarbonate material and has a single-camera setup on the back. It also comes with support for extended RAM, and like most Nokia phones, it runs stock Android out of the box.

Nokia C12 Launched in India

The Nokia C12 has been launched in India with a single storage option – 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, priced at Rs 5,999. The launch price is introductory and is subject to change soon. The C12 will be available for purchase exclusively via Amazon India starting March 17, 2023. The phone comes in three different color options – Dark Cyan, Charcoal, and Light Mint.

The phone features a 6.3-inch LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a waterdrop notch at the top center for the front camera, and the chin bezel is relatively thick compared to the rest of the bezels around the display.

Under the hood, the Nokia C12 is powered by a Unisoc 9863A1 SoC and runs on Android 12 (Go Edition), offering users a stock Android experience. It also comes with support for memory expansion up to 256GB via a microSD card.

In terms of optics, there is a single 8MP rear camera with an LED flash, along with a 5MP front camera sensor. The phone has a single speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, there is no USB Type-C port, and the device instead comes with a micro-USB port. It supports Bluetooth 5.2 and 802.11 b/g/n.

The phone is promised to receive two years of quarterly security support and has a small 3000mAh battery with 5W charging support. It also has an IP52 rating for basic protection against water splashes. The Nokia C12 weighs about 177 grams and measures 160.6mm x 74.3mm x 8.75mm.
