OnePlus much much-awaited smartphone, the OnePlus 12, is announced to launch on December 5 in China. The company has also dropped the design renders of the handset in three colour options. And just recently the company confirmed that the handset will pack 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Even after the announcement of all these key information, global users are unaware of its launch date in the global market.
Just recently the OnePlus 12 smartphone has been listed on the OnePlus global and Indian official websites. The company calls it its “next product” without mentioning its launch date on the website. The company has launched a global marketing campaign for this upcoming handset through which it’s asking users to subscribe via their email and get a chance to win this handset for free.
If you dive deeper into the terms and conditions section you will find an interesting detail that can be understood as a hint towards its launch date in the global market. The terms and conditions written on the global website read “beginning on November 27, 2023, at 10:00 EDT through January 23, 2024 at 23:59 EDT”.
This means that OnePlus will begin accepting the entries from November 27th and will accept till January 23. Now if we were to say that the company will launch the OnePlus 12 simultaneously across all global markets, it might run a giveaway till then. And as soon as it ends it can launch on January 24.
Otherwise, it can be said that January 23 or 24 is the possible open sale date and the OnePlus 12 can be launched a week ago on January 17, 2024.
If we talk about the terms and conditions mentioned on the OnePlus India website it reads “You can participate in the contest from November 27th, 2023 to 2024, the day before the OnePlus 12 launch event”
As far as its launch in India is concerned the aforementioned terms and conditions suggest that it can be launched later as there are more phones to launch in India including the OnePlus 12R and the OnePlus 12. As of now, these things are mere speculations, for an official announcement we will have to wait a while.
This can be understood as a hint that the company can soon announce the launch date for the global market including India.
For now, we will have to rely on reports that suggest that smartphones can be launched in the global market including India in January of next year.
OnePlus 12 Expected specifications
The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and will have a BOE X1 OLED LTPO display screen with 2K resolution and 2600 nits of peak brightness.
In the camera section, it will house a Sony LYT-808 primary shooter, a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera, and an expected 48 MP ultrawide lens. The handset can be backed by a 5400 mAh battery that supports 100W charge feature.
