OnePlus has finally announced the global launch date of its much-awaited smartphones OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. As per the company, both of the smartphones will be launched on January 23, 2024. It will be launched in India on the same day thus making it an exciting moment for the Indian users who have been waiting for these two smartphones.
While everyone waits for the launch of these two new smartphones, a new update has come about the OnePlus 12R smartphone. A famous tipster named Max Jambor has recently said in a post that the OnePlus 12R is equipped with a 2MP macro camera. As of now, it was expected that the smartphone would come with a 50 MP (IMX890) main camera, 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and 32 MP 2x tele camera, which Max admits was part of an early prototype model.

The OnePlus R series phones are said to be the rebadged version of China’s limited OnePlus Ace series. Similarly, OnePlus 12R is considered to be the rebadged version of the OnePlus Ace 3. And recently DCS tipped that OnePlus can drop the expected 32 MP telephoto shorter from the OnePlus Ace 3. The plan may be to introduce a macro lens in place of it as it’s suggested about the OnePlus 12R. However, it’s just a mere expectation and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
The OnePlus 12R is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that runs Android 14 out of the box. It is said to feature an AMOLED display of 1.5K resolution and 120Hz.
