Oppo Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition spotted on China Telecom revealing launch date, Pricing and much more
For those who remember, one Satellite edition was missing from the Oppo Find X7 series launched in China last year. Even after the launch, the rumor mill continued to suggest that Oppo would release the satellite version of the X7 Ultra. Earlier, it was spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium, HD Video Industry Alliance, and Bluetooth SIG, which somewhat confirmed that Oppo would indeed launch the satellite version. Now, today, it has been spotted on the China Telecom website, revealing everything from launch date to specs and pricing.
Oppo Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition on China Telecom
The phone has been listed with the model number PHY120 and the moniker “OPPO Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition.” From the listing, we learned that it will be an exact copy of the already launched Find X7 Ultra with the addition of Satellite Communication. It will feature a 6.82″ curved OLED display with dimensions of 164.3×76.2×9.5 and a resolution of 1440*3216 with a Capacitive touch screen. Under the hood, you will find the same processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which the Find X7 Ultra is equipped with. You will get ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box. The battery size is going to be 5,000 mAh lithium battery with USB Type C 3.0 support. The weight is also similar to the X7 Ultra, which is 221g.
The camera specs revealed in this listing showcase a four-camera rear layout comprising a 50MP LYT 900 main camera, a 50MP LYT 600 Ultra-wide camera, a 50MP IMX890 65mm 3x periscope camera, and a 50MP IMX858 135mm 6x periscope camera. The front selfie shooter will come with a 32MP camera.
In terms of connectivity, this will support GPS functionality; however, there is no NFC support in the satellite variant. So, it appears there are some distinctions between both Ultra variants.
Design
Looking at the renders from China Telecom, the design looks exactly like the X7 Find Ultra. The rear camera module is placed inside the circular ring, with three cameras surrounding the main periscope lens in the middle, with Hasselblad badging on the right side of the periscope lens.
Pricing and Availability
It seems we will have some sort of official announcement soon from Oppo about this variant. The reason is that the listing shows the market date as April 2nd, 2024. We also learned that Oppo may launch this smartphone with a single RAM/Storage option, which is 16GB/1TB. The pricing as per the China Telecom listing is ¥7,999 (Approx. $1106.85) with only a single color tone, “Song Ying Mo Yun”.
