OPPO’s Find X7 Pro Expected to be the First Dual Periscope Telephoto Phone
The Chinese smartphone and other consumer electronics manufacturer, OPPO, is said to unveil its Find X7 series smartphones early next year in the first quarter, and the pro model has now been tipped to arrive as the first dual periscope telephoto phone.
Here’s more about it.
OPPO Find X7 Pro – First Dual Periscope Telephoto Phone?
Very recently, we came across the hands-on image of the upcoming Find X7 Pro smartphone, which gave an idea of what the camera module of the device would look like. It is expected to be a large and projected octagonal structure, which houses the cameras within, and the LED flash outside at the top-left corner.
It was also reported previously that the Find X7 Pro may have a quad camera system, comprising of a LYT-900 primary camera, IMX890 2.7x± large bottom portrait periscope camera, alleged IMX858 6x± small bottom ultra-telephoto periscope camera, and an additional ultra-wide lens. Just like its predecessor, its camera system will be branded by Hasselblad, and the device will also have an XCD solution.
Now, another tipster from the Weibo platform(@Zhou Yusi) has shared more about the camera system of the device, and its likely arrangement. The tipster also points out that the Find X7 Pro would likely be the first smartphone to sport a dual-periscope telephoto system.
It is assumed that one of the periscope lenses would be the same 2.6x 1/1.56″ lens, and if the other would have to be a longer lens, significant compromises will have to be made with the main and ultrawide lenses. The size of the 1-inch primary shooter will have to be reduced, as well as the size of the ultrawide-angle lens which currently is 1/1.56″.
Adding more, the tipster has also noted that the change in the size of the primary camera won’t affect the image quality, and as the ultrawide angle lens is not very popular amongst ordinary users, there will again not be any issues. Moreover, with a shorter shutter time, the image quality can be improved too. However, when it comes to video shooting, a better ultrawide lens is necessary, but again, on an Android device, photography is always given more importance.
The upcoming Find X7 Pro smartphone has also been confirmed to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship processor and will be equipped with OPPO’s HyperTone camera system. Both these will also add to a better camera experience on the device. Just to add, the device is also confirmed to support satellite communication.
As mentioned, OPPO is expected to launch its Find X7 series devices, which include the vanilla Find X7 and Find X7 Pro smartphones, in Q1 2024. As the launch is nearing, more updates will likely be arriving in the coming days. Stay tuned.
