Realme 12 Pro series to feature Snapdragon chipsets, reveals teaser
The Realme 12 Pro series is expected to go official soon in multiple markets, including China. A new poster released by the brand reveals Realme’s intention to showcase the photography prowess of the 12 Pro lineup at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 in Las Vegas, USA. Notably, Realme’s announcement at CES is set to be a collaborative effort with Qualcomm, strongly suggesting that the 12 Pro series might feature Snapdragon chipsets.
The Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ were both powered by the Dimensity 7050, which is nothing but a renamed version of the older Dimensity 1080 chip. However, recent reports have revealed that the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will use different Snapdragon chipsets.
The Realme 12 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, whereas the 12 Pro+ could be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The same chip powers the likes of the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the upcoming Poco X6 5G.
Reports have revealed that the Realme 12 Pro+ will feature a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B camera for 3x optical zoom shots. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro will have a 32-megapixel telephoto camera for 2x optical zoom shots. The specifications of both models have already appeared through TENAA certification in China. This indicates that the Realme 12 Pro series may debut by the end of this month in the home market.
