Realme GT 5 launch date confirmed, Realme Buds Air 5 to tag along

After teasing the arrival of the Realme GT 5, Realme has finally confirmed its launch date for the Chinese market. The brand confirmed today that it will unveil the GT 5 at 2 pm (local time) on Aug. 28 in China. At the same event, it will also announce the Realme Buds Air 5 for the home market.

The new poster not only confirms the Realme GT 5’s launch date but also teases its rear design. The leaked render of the phone, which surfaced a couple of weeks ago, revealed that it has a black-coloured camera block, which houses a triple camera unit on the left and a Snapdragon logo with some RGB lighting on the right.

With a week remaining for the launch, the company is expected to release more teasers to confirm some of its key features in the next few days. The device will be competing with the likes of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, the Redmi K60 Ultra, and the iQOO 11S in the home market. At present, there is no information available on the global launch of the device.

The Realme GT 5 reports have revealed that it will have a 6.74-inch OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 240W fast charging. It will have a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890, with OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. There will be another variant of the phone packing a larger 5,200mAh battery with 150W fast charging. The rest of its specs will be identical to those of its 240W charging edition.

The Realme Buds Air 5 is set to launch on Aug. 23 in India. The same device will debut alongside the GT 5 in China. It offers key features such as 12.4mm audio drivers, 50dB active noise cancellation, and Dolby Atmos support.
