Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone confirmed to equipped with Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto sensor

Realme is just a few days away from launching its flagship smartphone Realme GT 5 Pro. The handset will be launched on December 07 in China and the pre-reservation for it has already started. Ahead of its launch, the company has announced some of the key specs of the handset through its Weibo page. Just recently it announced that the Realme GT 5 Pro will be the first from the factory to come with RealmeUI 5.0 based on Android 14 out of the box.

Realme also committed to three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

Now the company has confirmed that the handset will come equipped with the Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto sensor. Realme calls it the first Snapdragon 8 and IMX890 telephoto combination. It has also shared the shots captured by the handset.

Apart from this, the company has earlier confirmed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It will be backed by a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. It will feature the world’s first BOE customized 6.78” 1.5K display screen with up to 4500 nits of peak brightness.

The company recently confirmed that the handset will debut in the Red Rock and Starry Night color options. The company has yet not made any announcement regarding its global launch though it may happen soon after its launch in the home market.
