Realme GT Neo 6 series said to feature Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset
Realme is reportedly working on the Realme GT Neo 6, an affordable flagship phone for the Chinese market. Previous leaks have claimed that the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, a new leak, courtesy of Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, reveals that it will have a newer Snapdragon 8-series chipset.
Qualcomm is said to be working on two new chipsets with model numbers SM7675 and SM8635. These chipsets that are expected to debut in March are tentatively dubbed the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, respectively.
Some conflicting reports claim that they are not different, but only one chip is referred to differently. Nevertheless, the rumour mill has been consistently leaking details about the upcoming phones that are said to feature the two chips.
For instance, OnePlus is said to launch a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3-powered OnePlus Ace 3V. On the other hand, Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo Pad 3 with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. iQOO is said to be working on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered smartphone and the iQOO Pad 2 tablet. The latest leak by DCS claims that the Realme GT Neo 6 series will have the SM8635 chip and a 1.5K resolution display.
The usage of the word “series” suggests that there could be at least two Realme phones with the Neo 6 branding. According to recent leaks, the device will have a 1.5K OLED display, 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a starting price of 2,000 Yuan (~$278). The Neo 6 series is expected to launch in March in China.
