Red Magic 9 series officially confirmed to launch on November 23
Nubia was among the early brands to confirm their plans to introduce flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This announcement came shortly after Qualcomm’s official unveiling of the chip last month. Today, the brand took to its Weibo handle to confirm that the Red Magic 9 series will be announced at 2 pm (local time) on Nov. 23 in China.
Ideally, the Red Magic 9 lineup should include two models, such as the Red Magic 9 and Red Magic 9 Pro. However, it is unclear whether both models will be announced on the same date. So far, the reports have been mainly talking about the Pro model.
The Red Magic 9 Pro is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is speculated that the Nubia phone with model number NX769J that appeared in Geekbench’s database a couple of weeks ago is the Red Magic 9 Pro. The listing revealed that the device will come with 12 GB of RAM and Android 14. However, the topmost variant of the device may likely offer 16 GB or 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The Red Magic 9 series is not the only Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip phone from the brand. Reports have revealed that the Nubia Z60 Ultra and Nubia Z60 Fold foldable phones will also feature the new hip. The Z60 Ultra will likely be announced in December of this year in China, while the Z60 Fold will debut in Q1 2024.
