Redmi 12 5G NBTC certified, launch imminent
A new Redmi phone with model number 23076RN8DY has been approved by the NBTC authority of Thailand. The listing confirms that the device will be called the Redmi 12 5G when it releases in Thailand. The said device has previously been spotted in the databases of other certification platforms, such as IMDA (Singapore) and the FCC. In all likelihood, the Redmi 12 5G will be a rebranded version of one of the recent Redmi phones, that debuted in the Chinese market.

The NBTC certification only confirms the Redmi device with the 23076RN8DY model number will have the Redmi 12 5G marketing name. In all likelihood, it will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R (model number 23076RA4BC) that debuted as the first-ever Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 phone in the Chinese market recently.
The letter “Y” at the end of the Redmi 12 5G’s model number signifies that it is a global version with NFC support. There is a Japanese edition of the phone with model number 23076RA4BR.
India is expected to receive the Redmi 12 5G and the POCO M6 Pro 5G in the coming days. Both are nothing but rebranded versions of the Note 12R. The Redmi model has the 23076RN4BI model number, whereas the POCO M6 Pro 5G has the 23076PC4BI model number.

The Redmi 12 5G will arrive with a 6.79-inch IPS LCD FHD+ 90Hz display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. It will have a 5-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual-camera system. The device will arrive with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging. It will run on Android 13 with the MUI 14 interface on top. For security, it will have a side-fitted fingerprint sensor.
