Last week, Redmi unveiled the Redmi Turbo 3 smartphone in China. Recent leaks suggest that the Redmi K70 Ultra will be the next major phone from the brand. Whether the announcement will occur in the first half of the year remains uncertain as of this writing. The Redmi K60 Ultra and Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 were announced in August last year. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi K70 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 may debut around the same time this year. Well ahead of the launch, tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked key details about the device.
Redmi K70 Ultra key specifications (rumoured)
DCS’ Weibo post does not explicitly mention the name of the phone he is talking about. However, it appears that the leaker could be referring to the upcoming K70 Ultra.
It can be said based on DCS’ leak that the K70 Ultra will have dual chips, one of them being the Dimensity 9300 SoC. It seems that the other chip on the device could be a dedicated chip for handling graphics. It is still unclear whether the device has the Dimensity 9300 or the upcoming Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset.
The leak reveals that the device will feature an OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution. It will have a metal frame and a glass body. The back panel of the device will have a conventional 50-megapixel primary camera and a large battery with 100W charging support.
Since the tipster has said that the K70 Ultra has a conventional 50-megapixel camera, it appears that it may feature the same OmniVision OV50K 50-megapixel camera sensor available on the K70 and K70 Pro. Other leaks have claimed that the device will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery. Reports also suggest that the device will come with an IP68-rated chassis.
