Sony LYT-900, one-inch camera sensor announced, Find X7 Pro could be first to feature it
Sony has silently announced the LYT-900 camera sensor through the Sony Lytia Weibo handle. As seen in the image below, the brand’s poster has reaffirmed its key specifications.
The official poster confirms that the Sony LYT-900 will be a 50-megapixel, one-inch camera sensor with a 1.6μ pixel size. According to reports, the LYT-900 is a tweaked version of the existing Sony IMX989, a one-inch camera sensor that has been available on flagship phones such as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Pro+.
There is no official confirmation of which smartphone will be the first to feature the LYT-900 camera sensor. However, rumours are rife that the Find X7 Pro, which is expected to launch with the Find X7 by the end of January in China, could be the first smartphone to arrive with the new Lytia camera sensor.
As per reports, the camera setup of the Find X7 Pro will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 50-megapixel IMX890 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel lMX858 periscope telephoto camera with 6x optical zoom. In addition, it will also have the HyperTone camera optimisation features that the company has co-developed with Hasselblad.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Pro+ are also expected to feature the LYT-900 lens. While the Xiaomi flagship is expected to launch along with the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Xiaomi Mix Flip in April in China, the Vivo X100 Pro+’s arrival has been reportedly delayed. Previous reports claimed that it would debut in March or April in the home market, but now it is expected to arrive a bit later but within the first half of 2024.
