Vivo, a leading Chinese smartphone maker, has unveiled its latest G2 5G smartphone in the brand’s home market in China. The specifications of the device has also been revealed.

Vivo G2 5G Unveiled in China
The newly unveiled Vivo G2 5G smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, and has the Mali G57 GPU integrated with it. It runs on the OriginOS 3.0 custom skin based on the Android 13 operating system, and is offered in three LPDDR4X RAM options(4GB/6GB/8GB) and two UFS2.2 storage options(128GB/256GB).
Speaking about its design, the G2 5G device has a 2.5D straight-edge middle frame, and features a thin and light-weight body which offers comfortable grip. Dimension-wise, the smartphone measures 163.74 x 75.43 x 8.09 mm in size and weighs 186 gm.
For the display, the smartphone comes with an HD eye protection display which is soft, smooth, and silky. It is an LCD display panel with a screen size of 6.56″, resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels, and refresh rate support of 60Hz/90Hz.
About the cameras, the device sports a dual camera setup at its rear housing a 13MP main camera. There is also a 5MP selfie camera present on the smartphone.
A 5000 mAh decently large battery (lithium battery) is also backed within the latest smartphone, and it supports a 15W wired charging feature and a reverse wired charging feature.
Other key specs are 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi with dual band support, Bluetooth 5.1, OTG, side -mounted fingerprint scanner, face recognition, dual storage expansion(memory fusion + storage compression), and the 200% loud speaker unit.
Regarding the availability, the official website states that the device will be made available for purchase in the Chinese market market this month itself, in January 2024, and the 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB storage configurations of the device have listing prices of CNY 1199, CNY 1499, CNY 1599, and CNY 1899. Customers will only be able to get the device in one color choice – Deep Space Black.
