Vivo X100 Pro+ tipped to feature 200MP Samsung HPV custom-made periscope camera by Samsung, Vivo
Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo X100 series of flagship phones in November or December of this year. The X100 and X100 Pro are tipped to feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset, whereas the X100 Pro+ is most likely to come equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Rumors are rife that the Vivo X100 Pro+ will be equipped with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Some Chinese tipsters have revealed new details about the said camera.
According to Tipster Digital Chat Station, the 200-megapixel periscope camera has undergone extensive customization, resulting in superior optical performance compared to Sony sensors such as the IMX890 and IMX866 models.
He also claimed that the 200-megapixel periscope camera’s telephoto capability has been improved. With the aid of a new algorithm, the lightweight module can effectively offer up to 10x optical zoom.
Another tipster claimed, that Vivo and Samsung have collaborated to create a customized 200-megapixel periscope sensor, which is likely to be named Samsung HPV. This sensor is said to be based on the Samsung HP3.
It will feature a 1/1.4-inch size and offer native 3X or 5X optical zoom capabilities. Like DCS, the tipster claimed that with the help of an AI algorithm, it can achieve an impressive 10X optical zoom while maintaining excellent image quality.
According to a previous report, the X100 and X100 Pro are expected to launch by the end of the year. However, the X100 Pro+ and the next-generation X Fold 3 may debut in Q1 2024.
