Vivo X100 Ultra likely to launch in May, hints Vivo VP
Except for a few brands, which include Vivo, all the other brands have launched flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. While there have been reports that the Vivo X100 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the company hasn’t made any announcements about its arrival. However, there have been subtle hints that it is coming soon. Yesterday, Jia Jingdong, who is Vivo’s Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, revealed the first details about the upcoming iQOO Z9 Turbo. In the comments section of the same post, he appears to have given a hint about the launch timeframe of the X100 Ultra.
As can be seen in the above screengrab, one of the Weibo users asked Jingdong whether there was any hope for the Vivo X100 Ultra to launch in the next month. In response, the Vivo executive said “yes,” which is a good hint that the X100 Ultra will debut in May.
According to reports, the Vivo X100 Ultra will be Vivo’s first smartphone to come with two-way satellite communication. There are also reports that the device will feature a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 primary camera with a variable aperture. The same camera is also available on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Find X8 Ultra.
According to reports, the Vivo X100 Ultra boasts a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that offers 4.3x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom. Likely, the Dimensity 9300+-powered Vivo X100s and X100s Pro may also break cover with the X100 Ultra in May in China.
