Vivo X100, X100 Pro, X100 Pro+ to feature periscope zoom camera
Since the introduction of the Vivo X70 Pro series in 2021, Vivo has been incorporating a periscope telephoto camera to enable higher zoom capabilities. Specifically, the Vivo X70 Pro+, Vivo X80 Pro, and Vivo X90 Pro+ have all been equipped with this periscope zoom camera. Given this track record, it is highly likely that the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro+ will also feature a periscope zoom camera. Recent leaks further suggest that both the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro models will also join the lineup with their own periscope telephoto cameras.
According to a Chinese tipster, the upcoming Vivo X100 and X100 Pro models will not include a 2x telephoto camera. However, for phone buyers in China who are specifically looking for a Vivo smartphone with a telephoto camera, the Vivo S-series now offers models that come equipped with this feature.
Another tipster has provided information suggesting that the Vivo X100 lineup does indeed come equipped with a periscope zoom camera. This claim is supported by yet another Chinese tipster who also asserts the presence of a periscope zoom camera in the Vivo X100 series.
For those who don’t know, the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are expected to feature the Dimensity 9300. Both phones are expected to debut as early as November this year in the home market. The X100 Pro+ featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may debut in Q1 2024.
As per a recent leak, the Vivo X100’s rear camera unit may comprise a 1/1.4x-inch Sony IMX9-series primary camera, a 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope zoom camera. On the other hand, the X100 Pro may feature a 1-inch, 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary camera, a 12-megapixel IMX663 ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope zoom camera.
