Xiaomi 14 Pro variant to feature titanium alloy frame, support satellite communication
Xiaomi is said to be working on the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro for the Chinese market. Both models are expected to launch in November of this year. The lineup also includes the more powerful Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is said to be released in March 2024. There have been reports that there could be a special edition variant of the Xiaomi 14 Pro. In a new Weibo post, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station may have spilt some key details about this device.
It can be said based on the new leak by DCS that the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s variant, which could be the rumoured special edition, will have a nano-ceramic glass cover to protect its display, a titanium alloy middle frame, and a ceramic rear panel. The tipster also revealed that the device will support satellite communication technology. He also said that the device will be equipped with the SM8650 chip, which is nothing but the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
As per a previous leak by the tipster, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. It will offer 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Going by the current trend of flagship phones in China, it appears that the Xiaomi 14 Pro could be the company’s first Xiaomi-branded flagship phone to offer 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The rear camera setup of the phone is expected to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary camera.
The primary snapper could be paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope zoom camera. It may ship with the MIUI 15-based Android 14.
