Xiaomi 14 Ultra battery size, launch timeframe tipped
In October, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, in China. The lineup also includes the more powerful Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which will debut next year. Ahead of the launch, leaks have revealed its battery size and launch timeframe.
Xiaomi offered a 4,860mAh battery on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and its successor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which debuted earlier this year, had a camera equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. A report by CNMO reveals that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be backed by a larger 5,500mAh battery.
There is a possibility that Xiaomi’s premium flagship may arrive with support for 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Like the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro, the Ultra will ship with HyperOS-based Android 14.
Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s quad-camera system will be headlined by a one-inch, 50-megapixel LYT-900 primary camera. The same camera is likely to be available on the likes of the OPPO Find X7 Pro and the Vivo X100 Ultra (Pro+).
Other reports have claimed that the primary snapper of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be accompanied by three 50-megapixel cameras, which include an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto macro camera with 3x optical zoom, and a periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The 14 Ultra is also said to be equipped with a quad-curved OLED panel, which will possibly support a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
As per another leak, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be announced in April 2024. The same month is also expected to see the arrival of its competing smartphone, the Vivo X100 Ultra.
