[Updated] Alleged Xiaomi 14 Ultra or Civi 4 receives MIIT certification, reveals support for satellite connectivity

Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi Civi 4, a female-focused smartphone for the Chinese market. A report dating back to September 2023 revealed that the Xiaomi device bearing 24031PN0DC that appeared in the IMEI database at that time is the upcoming Civi 4. However, the IMEI database listing did not mention the name of the device. Now, the same device has received approval from the MIIT authority in China.

Xiaomi Ciiv 4 MIIT certification

Xiaomi is expected to announce the Xiaomi 14 Ultra on Feb. 22 in China. While previous reports have claimed that the model number 24031PN0DC belongs to the Civi 4, a new Weibo post by reliable leaker DCS suggests that it could be the 14 Ultra.

The MIIT certification has no information about the device. However, the listing does reveal support for satellite connectivity. It remains to be seen whether the feature will support two-way connectivity for calling or if it will be only limited to messaging.

As of now, the rumour mill has not revealed concrete details about the Civi 4’s specifications. However, it is being said that the device could be powered by the Dimensity 8300-Ultra. So, the Civi 4 will be the second D8300-Ultra phone from the brand after the Redmi K70e, which went official in November in China.

As far as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is concerned, reports have claimed that it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and house a 5,300mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It is expected to feature a 6.73-inch AMOLED display that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
