Here’s more about it.

OPPO’s Mixed Reality(MR) Glass Headset

The Mixed Reality(MR) Glass Headset that OPPO has unveiled at the AWE 2023 event held in Santa Clara, California is a developer edition that is to be made available to developers soon in China. The newly unveiled mixed reality device from OPPO is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ chipset and in China will be called the Snapdragon Spaces development kit.

The brand for quite some time had been working on AR glasses and the company had introduced its OPPO Air Glass 2 the previous year. Compared to the Air Glass 2, OPPO’s MR Glass Headset is much bulkier and brings two handheld controllers along with it. The controllers will enable its users to interact with what they see through the device.

As mentioned, the mixed reality device of OPPO will be first made available to developers, and the Director of XR Technology at OPPO, Xu Yi has mentioned that in terms of its practicality, its device still has a lot more to improve, which is why the brand is first making it available to developers. OPPO believes that the developers will make mixed-reality devices popular and bring more functionalities to them.

Speaking of its other specs, OPPO’s Mixed Reality(MR) Glass Headset will be featuring Binocular VPT (video pass-through) with pancake lenses, dual RGB cameras at its front, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is also to support the brand’s SuperVOOC fast charge technology along with a heart rate monitor.

In China, the OPPO Mixed Reality(MR) Glass Headset will be made available to developers by the mid-half of this year through EnlightXR.
