Samsung Electronics will take decision on mass production of Galaxy Ring in August report says

Samsung’s “Galaxy Ring” reports have been hovering for a while and recent reports were about the near completion of its development. Now reports say that Samsung is to decide about the mass production of the long-awaited Galaxy Ring. The company can decide this in August of this year but even if it does, this product will be launched next year.

And the reason behind it is medical device certification about which an industry insider has to say “To apply for medical device certification, the product must be developed to a level that can receive radio wave certification.” (Samsung Electronics decided to mass-produce the Galaxy Ring in August)

“Even if development is completed around July, it will take an additional 10 to 12 months to obtain medical device approval,” he said. And even if Samsung decides to launch it simply as a wellness product without obtaining medical device approval it will take 7 to 8 months which again means next year.

If Galaxy Ring turns out to be a better wearable than Galaxy Watch, it can easily replace it from the market. But there can be some errors due to fitting issues and pressure differences can create some errors in the data analyzed and presented over the app.
