Netflix sets eyes on bringing in a GTA title to Netflix Games
Netflix, the Global streaming giant started a platform for gaming in the year 2021, alongside their streaming services. The pursuit has seen a slow but steady growth. Although it’s just a minor section of Netflix subscribers who engage themselves in Netflix gaming, the figures have shown considerable growth. Current reports state that Netflix games have been downloaded for about 70.5 million times, which stood at about 30 million in September 2022.
As Netflix has been working on broadening its gaming endeavors, recent developments have some amazing inputs. The word is that Netflix seems to be considering bringing in a Grand Theft Auto title to Netflix games.
The Grand Theft Auto universe has a widespread fan base all across the globe. Whether it is for mobile, PC, or other devices, a Grand Theft Auto title to Netflix gaming does hold the potential to successfully attract an audience.
The report seeps in from inputs of a recent report by The Wall Street Journal. While the reports have asserted Netflix’s interest in bringing in a GTA title and some discussions of Netflix with Rockstar Games, it hasn’t concretely mentioned if there has already been a deal undertaken between Netflix and the creators of GTA.
Netflix’s gaming domain includes the likes of many in-house games such as Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, Storyteller from Annapurna Interactive, etc.
In regards to GTA titles, they already exist on both Android and iOS. If Netflix brings in a GTA title to Netflix gaming, we would expect a mobile game at the forefront. GTA titles that already exist on Apple Play Store and Google Play Store include Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
